please pray

Please remember to keep Steven Curtis Chapman and his family lifted up in your prayers. And hug your children a little tighter today. This tragedy has made me realize the importance of telling my kids every day how much I love them and how blessed I am to be their mother. You can read the story here. I can not imagine grieving for one child while consoling another. I pray that God give the family courage and strength to overcome this tragedy. And I pray that He give them peace and rest, and surround them with His love many times over.

This is such a horrible tragedy...my heart and my prayers go out to the entire Chapman family.

Unfortunately, this kind of tragedy happens, on average, over 225 times EVERY YEAR. Kids are typically killed in their own driveway by members of their family. Safe Kids USA, the children's charity, has lifesaving tips for parents here, including how six seconds can save a child's life:

Thanks for posting about this, Jen.
